Yesterday 3/9/22 I waited 2 hours before I got to talk to anyone. The day before I waited over an hour. Meanwhile I was worried my battery on my landline phone was non going to brand it. The lady said they hired 20 more people but it seems that did non aid my state of affairs of trying to reach them sooner. I don’t know whether to go to a new provider if that is happening everywhere considering of Covid. Yet nosotros don’t have to wearable our masks anymore so I don’t know what the issue is at this fourth dimension. Purely disgusted. They give me a call yesterday to rate the service with the lady only not the state of affairs I am facing.

I’ve called countless times, emailed through the portal, etc. I’ve waited on concord for literal hours–once I was offered a callback only that never came either. Finally decided to try my luck at the patient portal submission…over a month later I finally received a very obvious response which is why I was calling in the kickoff place TO Ask QUESTIONS. I don’t sympathize why the art of getting to talk to someone has completely gone away. I’g not an idiot…I read my argument of benefits explanation just I have follow up questions and believe I’k being charged incorrectly.

Afterward moving to a new state land, we immediately practical for a new health insurance policy through CareFirst. It has been over a month of continuously calling and speaking to multiple agents giving u.s. inconsistent information on if they received our lease and utility bills for proof of relocation or not. This is subsequently faxing and emailing this information on more than than one occasion. It is very concerning to encounter how a visitor operates when the simplest things like enrollment cannot exist done in a straightforward fashion.

I take a high deductible program with CareFirst. I also had breast cancer and found out in Oct of 2020. I tin tell you based on my experience, their refusal to pay for things could have had a very negative impact on my care. I’k lucky that I’g ok now, simply I’m not sticking with CareFirst considering I desire to live, and they don’t care if I do not.

My start complaint is that I’ve spent close to $13K on healthcare when I should have been covered. I’m counting this deduction in my salary and I’one thousand not going to work for a company where I’m getting paid 13K less, so I will leave my job at the end of the year. I say this and then any company considering a Carefirst high deductible plan should know, your staff similar me, may go out every bit a outcome.

Second complaint – They could have killed me. They delayed me getting my Oncotype and BRCA Cistron Breast Cancers exam results by refusing to pay for them. Looks like they eventually paid $100 for the Oncotype and nil for BRCA. Both of these tests are common and important in treating chest cancer and take a significant impact on the handling plans and timing. Had my Oncotype indicated an aggressive tumor, the ii-month delay in getting those test results could have allowed an aggressive tumor to metastasize. I’grand lucky, my results were skillful, but for someone with an aggressive tumor, that two-month filibuster could be the difference between life and death. Added notation I paid $700 for the BRCA tests, which doesn’t fifty-fifty go against my out-of-pocket costs maximums. It’southward just more coin from me.

They too keep refusing to pay for Proton treatments, which I’thousand guessing I’chiliad going to be paying an additional $2.5K out of pocket for. Proton treatments are very common treatments for chest cancer every bit they cause less impairment than traditional radiation treatments, and are covered past most insurance carriers including Medicare. Of course, BCBS doesn’t care if I alive or die because my company will simply supervene upon me with another worker that will pay their premium. Until they get frustrated and quit the company also.

In decision: I do not recommend them. If you apply for a job with CareFirst as the Medical, I would turn down that job.

Beware of Carefirst Bluecross Blueshield. Please read this complaint, then yous will choose some other supplemental insurance carrier. My female parent, Eileen ** passed away in October 2020 at the age of 97. She had CareFirst for decades as her supplemental health insurance. I reported her death to CareFirst, Wells Fargo and Wesbanco and airtight those accounts to foreclose any future fraudulent monthly billing. Care First bodacious me that I was due a refund for the balance of the month. I told them that my female parent’due south credit carte du jour was inactivated. CareFirst said they would send a refund check. Wells Fargo assured me that her credit menu was immediately inactivated and there would be no farther transactions allowed.

In February I realized I had received neither a refund nor a letter of the alphabet of condolences from CareFirst. In the following three weeks I made many calls. Each fourth dimension I was told by the person I spoke with that they would go back with me. I requested to speak with a supervisor with 4 different agents. My requests were denied. Finally, I was told I had to complain to Wells Fargo. Manifestly, CareFirst sent two refunds of $838.87 and $6.91 to Wells Fargo in December. Wells Fargo told me to contact CareFirst and simply have then rescind their refunds and and then send me a bank check. Further conversations with CareFirst again was just a waste of time. They have never provided me with whatever written or verbal response, indicating why they would not transport a refund as promised.

How can CareFirst event a refund to a credit card to a member’s credit card later on she has passed away, and they credit card has been cancelled? Information technology is their responsibility to issue a refund to the appropriate political party. I pay out of pocket for CareFirst insurance. My ID card has the dentist and location on the card. I went to have services washed on September 15, 2020. I checked the CareFirst website and noticed the claims for a routine cleaning was denied. On October 6, 2020 I contacted CareFirst and was told I went to a doctor out of network. I explained that was not true, I went to the location on my carte. The rep stated he will exist sending the merits back through and it would take 7 to 10 business days. ten business days later, I called back considering zip inverse on the website. That rep stated she was putting the merits through again and it would have 7 to 10 business days. Ok 10 business organization days later notwithstanding and outcome and I calls back. This rep states she is sending information technology through once more and claims can take fifteen to xxx concern days.

Ok here we are 23 business organization days in and not i indication that they are working on this upshot. I owe a bill that I should not be owing and I need further work done merely can’t because I owe a bill that I should not owe. Now, as I type this I am on concord waiting for a supervisor and the rep keeps stating no supervisor is available. Well sir, guess what I will hold. I am not hanging up until someone does their job. This is ridiculous.

Practise NOT attempt to get a “Free routine concrete” from BCBS CareFirst. Y’all volition open yourself up to many many many bills from services and billing parties you never heard of conjuring up reasons to have your money. They are crooks and grifters. When it comes to wellness care in America Nix IS FREE NO Thing WHAT THIS INSURANCE PROVIDE GUARANTEES. My medico’s office used the incorrect lawmaking to bill me, the third political party billing company put my address in wrong. And all of these errors/mistakes were my responsibleness to fix. Information technology took me 8 hours of phone calls and paperwork and runaround to avoid most of the bills, but they are yet coming. I get a new bill from a new mysterious company every week from a routine physical that should be covered and “Gratuitous”. It is non. Information technology is a lie.

Information technology is a HDHP HMO with PPO out of surface area. You lot can’t shell the BCBC provider network and predictability of costs with co-payments instead of coinsurance. CareFirst has a slap-up network where I live in the Washington, DC metro area. The but downside is their customer service is below average.

I recently submitted a claim and later submitting, received the popup with the reference number and also received email. Now, being the first fourth dimension I split the claim in case something went wrong, didn’t desire to put all the eggs in one basket to so speak. When I logged back in to create another claim I notice in that location were no submissions shown that I had entered. I contacted tech back up and while prissy enough were not able to recover it … fine, I’ll do it again.

The 2d time I may take entered the incorrect address, dwelling house address instead of dispensary address. I emailed to meet if they could cheque. While waiting for email I created a second claim. When I eventually received electronic mail I was told once submitted no corrections could exist fabricated, non even the address. They then said it appears I already resubmitted the claim. I wrote back and explained no I didn’t resubmit the claim, they are two different claims. I and so received an electronic mail dorsum stating that in that location is no way to abolish a claims submission and the claim will be candy twice, i will deny as a duplicate. First time using CareFirst support – not remotely impressed! -Rick
